National Defence System of the Republic of Lithuania Medal of Merit


Medal of Merit (hereinafter called the Medal) is the highest level award of the National Defence System bestowed for extraordinary merits in developing and strengthening national defence over the course of many years, and for dedication in service.
Eligibility of the Medal: for troops of professional war service and active reserve, in extraordinary cases - for military of foreign states for significant merits and personal contribution to strengthening national defence system and its combat readiness; for merits in processing integration into the Euro-Atlantic defence structure.

National Defence System of the Republic of Lithuania Medal for Meritorious Civilian Service


Medal for Meritorious Civilian Service (hereinafter called the Medal) is a National Defence System level award bestowed on civilians for extraordinary merits and exceptional performance in strengthening national defence over the period of many years and for dedication while conducting civilian service.

National Defence System of the Republic of Lithuania Medal for Distinguished Service


Medal for Distinguished Service (hereinafter called the Medal) is a National Defence System medal awarded for an act of outstanding performance of military service. The Medal is awarded to the active military service troops, and to military of foreign states in extraordinary cases. The decoration is bestowed for valour and dedication shown while performing service in life-threatening or other extreme conditions; for personal contribution while leading military units under extreme conditions; for dedication while saving military personnel, military or state property; for exceptional performance of duty in international missions abroad.

National Defence System of the Republic of Lithuania General Jonas Žemaitis Medal

General Jonas Žemaitis Medal (hereinafter called the Medal) is a National Defence System award established to tribute the memory of Brig. Gen. Jonas Žemaitis, Chairman of the Movement of the Struggle for Freedom of Lithuania Council Presidium. It is nominated to junior officers who have distinguished themselves with impeccable, diligent and honest service in the Lithuanian Armed Forces.

National Defence System of the Republic of Lithuania Medal for Deployment on International Missions
 

Medal for Deployment on International Missions (hereinafter called the Medal) is a National Defence System decoration awarded for successful participation in international operations. The Medal is awarded after the first successfully completed service in international operation. In case of multiple (for every successfully completed international operation) awards the Medal is marked with bronze-coloured Arabic numerals 5 mm in height and width attached to the middle part of the ribbon or strip.

National Defence System of the Republic of Lithuania Commemorative Medal of Lithuania's Accession to NATO

Commemorative Medal of Lithuania's Accession to NATO (hereinafter called the Medal) is a National Defence System level decoration awarded on the occasion of accession to NATO for distinguished merits and personal input into strengthening the National Defence System and its combat readiness by facilitating integration into the Euro-Atlantic defence structure. The Medal may be bestowed on citizens of Lithuania and foreign states.

Medal of Merit (hereinafter called the Medal) is an Armed Forces level decoration conferred for outstanding merits in development and strengthening of the Lithuanian Armed Forces and dedication in conducting military service.

Lithuanian Armed Forces Medal for Distinguished Service
 

Medal for Distinguished Service (hereinafter called the Medal) is an Armed Forces level decoration bestowed for outstanding distinguished service in developing and strengthening the Lithuanian Armed Forces.
The decoration may be nominated for the active service troops, and in extraordinary cases - for military of foreign states for: dedicated performance of duty in extreme conditions, for taking the initiative and resourcefulness in leading a unit while conducting a difficult higher command's task in extreme conditions; for dedication while saving lives of other military personnel (or civilians) in military training or exercise; for exceptional performance of duty in international missions abroad.

 
Lithuanian Armed Forces Medal for Injuries
 

Medal for Injuries (hereinafter called the Medal) is the Lithuanian Armed Forces level decoration awarded for injures experienced while conducting service in international operations, protecting sovereignty of state, inviolability of its territory, airspace and territorial sea and exclusive economic zone, defending the state from aggression or other armed assault.

Statute for the Lithuanian Armed Forces Medal for Contribution to Mutual Support

The Lithuanian Armed Forces Medal for Contribution to Mutual Support (hereinafter the Medal) is awarded and presented for completing a rotation of service with the rotational forces deployed in the Republic of Lithuania. Military and civilian personnel of NATO member states are eligible for the Medal:  after completing the rotation of the rotational forces deployed in the Republic of Lithuania and after having been in service with the rotational forces deployed in the Republic of Lithuania for at least two months and withdrawn for reasons which cannot be attributed to them (injury, illness, service, requirements of the service, or other overriding reasons). The Medal is awarded by decision of the Chief of Defence.   The Medal may be bestowed on an individual only once.  The Medal and the certificate are presented upon the completion of the service in the rotational forces in the Republic of Lithuania.
